Birmingham-Southern is a small, Methodist, liberal arts college in Alabama. The school has a January (J-) term and encourages internships. Many majors require senior projects.


Affordability: Birmingham-Southern has a relatively low sticker price ($37,050) and fairly low overall net price ($22,888). According to NCES data, 97% of freshman were awarded, on average, $9,020 in college grants and scholarships for the 2020-21 school year. However, most students take out student loans (81% of freshman borrowed an average of $4,063 in 2020-21). Birmingham-Southern is most affordable for higher-income families.
