Brown University is an elite research university in Providence, Rhode Island. According to their website, Brown is "distinct for its student-centered learning and deep sense of purpose." The school has an open curriculum.
Affordability: Brown meets 100% of demonstrated need without student loans. Theoretically, then, Brown is affordable for any student admitted. However, they do not offer merit aid. Higher income students will pay full price, which is high. According to NCES data, most students do not take out loans (10% of freshman borrowed an average of $11,328 in 2020-21).
