Lafayette College

Lafayette College is a highly-ranked, small liberal arts college in Easton, Pennsylvania. Lafayette is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, but does not overtly advertise that part of their identity. Lafayette touts its traditions, community, and academic opportunities. 

Affordability: Lafayette expanded their no-loan program in fall 2021, and now promises to meet 100% of demonstrated need without loans for students with household incomes up to $150,000.  Lafayette also offers merit aid, so students from higher-income families may not have to pay full price. According to NCES data, 29% of freshman borrowed an average of $9,937 in 2020-21 (these numbers should improve starting with 2022-23 data).
