Princeton University is an elite research university in Princeton, New Jersey. Princeton is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. Unlike most elite research universities, Princeton has more undergraduate students than graduate students.
Affordability: Princeton meets 100% of demonstrated need without student loans. Theoretically, Princeton is affordable for any student admitted. Their need aid is among the best in the U.S. However, they do not offer merit aid. Higher income students will pay full price, which is high. According to NCES data, most students do not take out loans (4% of freshman borrowed, on average, $7,216 in 2020-21).
