Tufts University is a mid-sized research and liberal arts university in Medford, Massachusetts. The university has three schools: Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA).

Affordability: Tufts promises to meet 100% of demonstrated need, without loans for household incomes under $60,000. Others are expected to take out loans. According to NCES data, 21% of freshman borrowed an average of $7,418 in 2020-21.
