University of Pennsylvania (Penn) is an Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unusual among the Ivies, Penn's most popular programs include Finance, Nursing, and Philosophy. Note that Penn has more graduate students than undergraduates.
Affordability: Penn meets 100% of demonstrated need without student loans. Theoretically, Penn is affordable for any student admitted. However, they do not offer merit aid. Higher income students will pay full price, which is high. According to NCES data, most students do not take out loans (11% of freshman borrowed, on average, $10,510 in 2020-21).
