Vanderbilt University is an elite research university in Nashville, Tennessee. Vanderbilt describes itself as innovative, diverse, and affordable. Interdisciplinary studies are popular here. Vanderbilt has slightly more undergraduates than graduate students. 


Affordability: Vanderbilt meets 100% of demonstrated need without student loans. Theoretically, Vanderbilt is affordable for any student admitted. They are among the few "no-loan" schools that also offer merit aid. According to NCES data, most students do not take out loans (10% of freshman borrowed an average of $9,084 in 2020-21).
