Vassar College is a highly-ranked, small liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, New York. Founded as a women's college, Vassar became coeducational in 1969. Vassar values diversity, curiosity, creativity, and openness. 


Affordability: Vassar promises to meet 100% of demonstrated need, without loans for lower-income households (not defined). They don't give merit aid. According to NCES data, 48% of freshman borrowed an average of $4,945 in 2020-21.
